Copyright Disclaimer
Rangarang World Inc. is a Canadian-based, Iranian-led cultural initiative and creative studio dedicated to preserving and reintroducing Iranian art, music, and cinema through restoration, education, and responsible reissue.
Revenue from our releases directly supports the growth of our archives and cultural programs. A portion is also invested in the Rangarang Creators Fund, which sustains new projects and helps preserve the creative legacy of Iranian arts.
Under Section 104 of the U.S. Copyright Act, works first published in countries not party to any copyright treaty with the United State, such as Iran, are generally not eligible for copyright protection unless individually registered. Iran is not a member of the Berne Convention or other reciprocal copyright treaties.
Within Iran, the 1970 Law for the Protection of Authors, Composers and Artists governs creative works. Article 16 limits the economic rights of cinematic and photographic works, or those owned by legal entities, to 30 years from the date of release, after which protection expires. This informs our understanding that many pre-1979 Iranian films and visual materials are no longer under active copyright.
Rangarang World does not claim ownership of original creative source material published in pre-revolution Iran. Our reproductions and editions are produced in good faith for cultural preservation and artistic presentation. We respect the moral, creative, and publicity rights of all artists, producers, and estates, and make every reasonable effort to contact rights holders before exhibiting or reproducing material. However, we do claim rights to our own curation, branding, presentation, designs, and specific reissue editions, including the creative arrangements, editorial work, packaging, and other original materials produced by Rangarang World Inc.
If you are a rights holder, estate representative, or otherwise connected to any featured work, please contact us at contact@rangarangworld.com so we can review, credit, or adjust our use accordingly.
All materials are presented with respect for Iranian cultural heritage, without claim of endorsement or affiliation by the original creators or their successors, unless otherwise stated.
